Jessica Bainbridge, counsellor based in Dorset offering online therapy for adults across the UK.

About me

Hello, I’m Jessica (Jess).

If you’re here, you might be feeling overwhelmed, burnout, stuck, or unsure where to begin. I offer a calm, supportive space where you can feel heard, understood, and begin to make sense of what you’re going through, at your own pace. It’s okay if things feel unclear right now.

I’m a humanistic integrative counsellor, offering online and telephone counselling to adults across the UK. I’m based in Blandford, Dorset, and I am fully insured, DBS checked, and a registered member of the BACP.

Like many of the people I work with, I understand how easy it can be to keep going on the outside while feeling overwhelmed underneath it all.

I’ve seen how powerful it can be to have a space where you feel truly heard and understood, and that’s something I aim to offer in our work together.

I often support people who are navigating anxiety, overthinking, and life changes, feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure of where they stand. This can include experiences around work, relationships, identity, or major life transitions such as becoming a parent.

How I work

My approach is humanistic and integrative, which means I see you as a whole person and tailor the way I work to suit you, rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach.

Sessions are a space where you can talk openly, at your own pace, about whatever feels important to you. There’s no pressure to have the “right words” or to know exactly what to say, we can begin wherever you are.

At the heart of my work is building a trusting relationship where you feel safe, understood, and able to be yourself. I’ll work alongside you in a calm, supportive, and non-judgemental way, helping you to explore your thoughts and feelings and gently make sense of what’s going on for you.

Some sessions may feel more reflective, while others focus on what’s happening for you in the here and now. We can go at a pace that feels right for you.

What I can help with

People come to therapy for many different reasons. You might be feeling overwhelmed, stuck in your thoughts,

or finding it hard to switch off.

I often support people who are experiencing:

  • Anxiety and overthinking

  • Stress, overwhelm, and burnout

  • Low mood or emotional difficulties

  • Life transitions and periods of change

  • Relationship challenges

  • Self-esteem, identity, and sense of self

  • Grief, this doesn’t have to mean bereavement. It can also be grieving a version of yourself, or a life you thought you were going to have.

I have a particular interest in supporting people through life transitions, especially when roles, identity, or expectations are shifting.

If what you’re going through isn’t listed here, you’re still welcome to get in touch.

What to expect

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, especially if you’re used to managing things on your own. You don’t need to have everything figured out before you begin.

Our first session is a chance for us to meet, talk about what’s brought you to therapy, and get a sense of whether working together feels right for you. There’s no pressure to share everything straight away, we can go at your pace.

Sessions are 50 minutes long and take place online or by telephone. Together, we can agree on a pace and frequency that feels manageable and supportive for you.

Above all, therapy is a space for you, somewhere you can talk openly, reflect, and begin to make sense of what you’re going through, in a way that feels right for you.
